Need to be sure I have this right: Small Campaign

Here is what I believe the current situation is for the small campaign. Please let me know ASAP if it is incorrect in any way.

Bretonnians
Home: Sevastopol
Armenia: Rare Choice
Smyrna: non-unique Hero Choice
Ankara: 50 point Magic Item

Dogs of War
Home: Holland
Belgium: non-unique Hero Choice

Empire
Home: St. Petersburg
Sweden: non-unique Hero Choice
Finland: I need to know what this provides!

Skaven
Home: Paris
Burgundy: Rare Choice
Picardy: non-unique Hero choice
Ruhr: non-unique Lord choice
Brest: I need to know what this provides!

Tomb Kings
Home: Marseilles
Spain: non-unique Hero choice
Portugal: I need to know what this provides!
Gascony: non-unique Lord choice

Wood Elf
Home: Greece
Serbia: Rare Choice
Bulgaria: non-unique Hero choice
Budapest: 2nd Home, + 1-100 point magic item (from Treasure Hunt scenario)
Rumania: Special, + 1-100 point magic item (from Treasure Hunt scenario)

Also, Kev, I know you are wise in the ways of graphics...do you have a means of color-coding each person's territories? Can you modify a map? Liam has some stuff in paint if not, but if you can, that would be better.

Anyone want to take over either or both campaigns?

I think it has become obvious I cannot run them.

Rules sets designed to be as clear and concise as possible have proven to be a morass of questions, people not getting them, them not making sense, whatever the problem(s) are...they are obviously very poorly written. they are as far from clear as can be and only seem to be getting worse.

Also, I cannot keep track of who has what and have a hard time dealing with how upset people got over the errors in record keeping and the problems and inequities it caused. It definitely put some people at a disadvantage and I have neither the time, energy, nor at this point interest in fixing it. So the following things are taking place more or less immediately:

1) I am dropping the Dwarf army. I see no way to play them competitively without being overpowered. They either need a gunline that is too big to be fun to go against or else will get crushed with my playstyle. So they are gone from the big campaign, even if I keep the site around for a while for my own amazement and amusement.

2) I am suspending both campaigns until someone takes them over or i can figure out a way to stay on top of them. We will just go back to one-offs for the foreseeable future.

3) If people e-mail me their results, what they currently hold, their current army lists in each location, I will ATTEMPT to update the website to make it accurate for whoever is coming in to run it.

Saturday/Friday

All the games are lined up. I should get off pretty early Friday, so if anyone wants to play, text me or call me and we will get it on.

Also, everyone should know which of their armies are fighting "neutral" armies and which ones are not. I encourage you all to get together even apart from our scheduled get-togethers to get some of the games in.

If anyone needs to know who and how many points they are facing, you can do it three ways

1) You can e-mail me and I will provide what I rolled up for you to face, then you can get the list from whoever made it and get the game played.

2) The schedule for the small campaign can be found here or the schedule for the big games can be found here.

3) For the small campaign, the list of rolls for who you face can be found here.
So you can roll up your own, and of course if the scheduled army to oppose does not work, feel free to roll your own. Just let me know the results.

Also, I have been forgetting to have us roll on this chart:

Units which capture an enemy standard become elite. 1 time per game they may re-roll all their to-hit dice. If they gain a second elite status, they can do this twice per game and so forth to a maximum of 3 times per game. If the unit is ever broken or reduced to less than half strength, they lose all bonuses.

Characters who are with a unit that captures a standard or who kill enemy standard bearer in hand-to-hand combat or who kill an equal or greater character in hand to hand combat roll d6 and gain the noted ability:

1) Elite once per game may re-roll all to hit dice
2) Leader: Add +1 to any Leadership test once per game, must be declared before rolling the dice.
3) Attack: Once per game may add 1 attack to profile, must be declared before dice are rolled.
4) Strength: As above, except strength.
5) Toughness: As above, except Toughness.
6) Choose any of the above

Generals who win the game and survive roll d6 and gain the following benefit for the ensuing battle.

1) Beloved Commander: Units within 12" add +1 to Combat Results until a combat within 12" is lost.
2) Leadership: Re-roll any one Leadership Test
3) Mad Dog General: General adds +1 to his to-hit rolls until he is wounded or flees.
4) Inspiring Standard: roll d6. Army Standard adds this to their standard range for duration of battle.
5) Famous General: One time per game, a leadership test within 12" is automatically passed.
6) Victorious troops: Once per battle add +1 to combat result, must be declared prior to combat.

Big Campaign

Variety is a good thing. I know several people were wanting to try some different things. I myself want to start playing the Dwarf army as well as the Wood Elfs in the small campaign and the Warriors of Chaos in the big one. But I want to mix it up a little bit more, try an army that can shoot AND fight. I thought maybe some others would want to as well, so I will present you an option.

Anyone who wants to play 2 armies in the big campaign will be allowed to do so if they fulfill the following conditions:

1) they get me both lists by Saturday the 5th
2) They have websites for both built and the links forwarded to me by Saturday the 5th

Note: To win the campaign with just one army, you need to control 50%+1 of the supply centers, or 3/4 together with an ally. If you use 2 armies, you will not be allowed to negotiate deals with other players, nor to ally with them, though you CAN and should ally with yourself. However, you will need to control 2/3rds of the supply centers between your two armies to win.

Black Friday or Off-White Saturday

I would definitely be interested in playing a game on either Friday or Saturday if anyone else would, although I can only do one or the other. Anyone else feel like playing?

Also, if someone feels like playing my victim(s) for the small campaign as well, it would be greatly appreciated.

The Big Campaign

Time to get the Lord-Level campaign started. Go here for starting location, rules questions, etc.

Also, to make it easier to keep track of all the information, please make a Web page for your army. Here is a template you are welcome to follow.

Bravenet is free to use or, if you wish, you can certainly build your own page. I am A) poor and B) suck at building web pages, hence my use of bravenet :-)

Please leave comment here when you have viewed and accepted your assignment.

Note: your campaign lists and first moves are due by December 5th, with first games taking place December 12th

Tomorrow

Lets go with 1500 points. Anyone who has videocamera, please bring. Tripod as well if you have one.

Campaign, Nov 14th, and Black Friday

Need to know what everyone is doing with their points and their next move for November 14th.

Also, what are we doing after those match-ups?

Also, Friday after Thanksgiving, and the Saturday, who would be interested in the following game:

Every model you have assembled, arranged in what you consider their best unit sizes/options except everything is What You See is What You Get...i.e. if your unit has spears, that is what they have, not 2 hand weapons or Great Weapons or whatever...though you CAN have say...20 guys where the front row shows Great Weapons, the guys behind spears, so you say the unit has Great Weapons.

Put the armies together, only 1 Lord choice for each army, all other models that are heroes can only be hero level.

Put together total points, we will arrange into 2 roughly balanced teams and have a massive, massive game. Interest level?

Last but not least, how many of us have video cameras? I would love to riff on the Office style action/interviews. We videotape the game from as mane angles as possible, including people's reaction shots, dice rolls, and so forth, intersperse some interviews, and make a "movie" of a game (probably not the BIG game as that would take forever!) and I will edit it and make us each a DVD.

Interest?

Saturday, October 24th

Tracy will be out of town, so Fullur is up for 2nd game this month. Darth Weasel is always up for a game. Anyone else interested in a game Saturday the 24th?

At Kens or at Critical Hit?

Points?

I am up for either place, any points total. Would prefer to try at least 1500 points of Chaos Dwarfs, maybe more, but could be convinced to go with either Warriors of Chaos or Wood Elfs...or, for that matter, I would be willing to roll regular Dwarfs, Vampire Counts, or even the *gasp* Goblins. Or Lizarmen if Fullur is playing someone else :-)

So let me know. And everyone else.

Might be a good chance for Kev to get in his two campaign games...or even to get Liam some 2250 point no dragons, no special characters practice in case he makes it to the tournament next month.

Campaign Move 1

Kenneths War banner 1, The Deadly Undeadly versus Liam, 250 point Vampire Counts in Marseilles

Liam, Sevapolitian Crusaders versus Ken, 500 point Lizardmen in Armenia

Phillip, Captain Nemo vs. Drew, 500 point Chaos Dwarf in St. Petersburg

Drew, The Leaves of Asrai versys Phillip, 500 point Goblins in Bulgaria

Games that need set up

Kevin, War banner 1, versus 200 points of Vampire Counts in Burgundy
kevin, War banner 2, versus 175 points of Dark Elfs in Picardy

Someone please get together with Kevin and set up to play those two. If Ken is the one for whatever reason, instead of Dark Elfs, use Ogres.

Need volunteers

Need someone to build a 500 point Goblin army. (Cannot be Drew)
Need someone to build a 250 point Vampire Count army (cannot be Ken)
Need someone to build a 500 point Dark Elf army.

I will build the other army.

If you choose to build the goblins, I have a list of available models.
If you choose to build the Vampire Counts, I have a list of available models.
If you choose Dark Elf, ask ken for list of models.

Need to know ASAP so I can post the actual match-ups for Saturday. First come, first serve on building the random armies.

Also, I think Cris elected not to play, Kev and Josh, if you two can get me your first moves before Saturday, we will work out a way to get you games as well.

Sunday, October 4, 2009

Saturday, campaign

I have the first moves for Phillip, Liam and myself. Need any other first moves people intend by Wednesday, will post who fights who Thursday and look for volunteers to put together the random enemies lists at that point.

Saturday

Anyone interested in meeting at Critical Hit Games in Hillsboro about Noon or 1 to play a small, maybe 1500 point game on their tables before poker?

Friday Wars, September 11

I will be unavailable for our regular (lol) 2nd Friday Warhammer session. However, I am available for a game anytime on Friday. If you want to do a late night game that would probably be fine too. If anyone is interested let me know.

Warhammer Wars for Saturday, August 28, 2009

Hey all,
Sounds like Cris and Drew are gearing up for a big 3k point battle tomorrow! I guess we'll see how jet-lagged Drew is by whether he puts his Knights on a hill to protect them from opposing fire?!?! ;)
Anybody else want to set up a game? Bret vs Lizards? High Elves vs Goblins (j/k)? Post it here so we know what's up!

Warhammer Wars for Saturday Aug. 15th?

I believe we discussed on Sunday getting together this Saturday for some gaming. I know that I should be able to make it, but I wanted to check and see if any others would be there as well.

Since Cris hasn't had an opponent the last time or two, hopefully we can get a game in for him.

Also, will we have enough to begin either of the campaigns? I have most of my Skaven for the small one glued together, but nothing painted yet.

Warhammer Wars for Saturday, July 25, 2009

Well, this is a late breaking post but here it is! It sounds like Drew's Sacrificial Chaos Army will be coming to face Kev's Bullheaded Ogres in an epic random army list battle. Fullur and I have decided to try a MASSIVE for us - 3000 pt battle. I don't know for a fact but I have a suspicion SpaceMonkey will drop by to check on us at some point. If anyone else wants to show, Fullur and I are starting around 10 A.M. and we will be leaving for poker at 6 or 6:30 P.M. - A lot of time for some War! Yay-Ya!

Warhammer Wars for July

Hey all, not really sure how this month is going to work out. Independence Day weekend was too busy to get in any games. Next Saturday, July 11th, Kevin and Cassie will be out of town, as well as Becky and Chris from what I've heard (feel free to correct me!). So we considered doing it the weekend after, on July 18th. However, that is the day of the Annual Barton Family Reunion, so that will not work for Drew, Phillip, or myself. And finally, July 25th is the last Saturday of the month, so it will be Poker night. We may be able to play during the day, let me know what you all think.
-Ken ^^

Warhammer Wars for the weekend of July 4th

Okay! Let's throw some stuff out there about plans for the holiday (Independence Day) weekend! I (ken) will be unable to participate in any Wars until I finish painting my house. I will be beginning Thursday night and hopefully have Friday off, so should complete it by Friday night/Saturday morning. If anybody wants to get a game in Saturday, I should be able to find a way to be available, just post up here with some details. Or if a couple of others want to get together to play, I should be home all weekend so the garage will be open! Of course, you guys are welcome to use it even if I'm not home, but I will be so that doesn't apply!

Warhammer Wars for Saturday, June 20th, 2009

On Saturday, June 20th, we will be having Warhammer Wars once again at the KDB's Enemies Memorial Battlefield at KDB's Garage in NW Oregon. It will begin at around 1:30 p.m., as both Kevin and I are taking our families to the local parade first at 11:30 a.m..

So far, Kevin is a for sure show-up, I would guess with his Ogre Kingdom Army, and I will be there with my Dark Elves. However, if we have an odd amount of people I will gladly step aside to try and photograph and document so others can get a chance to play, as I believe I have at leas 1 or 2 games in more than the rest of you. Please post if you are interested in showing up, with what time you can come and what army you will bring, as well as a couple points values you are interested in playing, so that we can accomodate you.
